Compassionate Support for Those Grieving a Loss

The Bereavement Ministry, offered through our Parish Nursing program, accompanies parishioners who have lost a loved one within the past year. Grief is a deeply personal journey, and no one is meant to walk it alone. Our ministry provides a safe, faith‑filled space where participants can share their experiences, find comfort, and learn healthy ways to cope.

Our 10‑Week Support Program

Participants meet weekly for ten weeks with trained facilitators who have themselves experienced the loss of a loved one. This shared understanding creates a foundation of empathy and trust. Using The New Day Journal, the group gently explores the stages of grief, healing practices, and spiritual reflection.

Those who have completed the program consistently express how meaningful it was to be surrounded by others who truly understand their pain. Many describe feeling stronger, more supported, and more hopeful as the weeks progress.

Becoming a Facilitator

Facilitators play a vital role in guiding and encouraging participants. Because personal experience is essential, one prerequisite is having gone through the loss of a loved one. Training is provided for those who feel called to accompany others on their healing journey.
